At the 6th edition of Stories at the loft-

We hosted Robert Stephens | Principal RMA Architects and founder Urbs Indis as he discussed his new book ‘Bombay Imagined: An Illustrated History of the Unbuilt City’ which tells the story of 200 unrealized Urban visions of the city. Ideas that never saw the light of day are richly illustrated with archival drawings, contemporary speculations, and overlays.

In this edition, Puran Kumar, our principal architect presented- The Estate: An urban regeneration proposal in the heart of the art district (South Bombay). Ballard Estate houses neo-classical architecture of a bygone time with remnants of gated alleys leading to courtyards trapped in between buildings. These spaces are now mostly inaccessible and are run-down. The proposal intends to redesign, adaptively re-use, and revitalize these spaces while respecting the heritage inherent to the precinct.
