Crowning one of the high-rise apartment towers in Gurgaon, this penthouse offers spectacular views of the lush green expanse – a sprawling 142-acre Golf & Country Club beyond.
The clients – a family of four – sought an intervention that would be oriented towards a multitude of experiences and constitute the day areas – through interconnected zones that flow into each other – with the night areas acting as spaces for privacy & refuge.
With a layout oriented towards a sense of space & volume, the east facing day areas – on the lower level – allow a steady stream of light to filter in – reflecting off the meticulously book-matched Italian marble floors and gliding across the veneer panelled walls. Designed as a zone for entertaining guests, the 6,000 sq. ft. floor plate constitutes a unified whole where the entrance foyer, dining, living and lounge seamlessly flow into each other, all the while, being connected to a pantry, kitchen, and a generous terrace – a designated spill out space replete with an outdoor cooking station.
The level above, on the other hand, plays host to a west facing terrace, two bedrooms with ensuite walk-in-wardrobes & bathrooms and a master suite – which includes a sun deck & study.
High on 38th‘, has been envisioned as a collaborative effort, with two design houses – Studio PKA & DeMuro Das – coming together and fusing their own distinct styles & philosophies. A dance of structure & form and a medley of textures and tones give way to an amalgamation that is eclectic yet unique.
With Indian modern art juxtaposed against the subtle shades of brown and grey and custom-built furniture complementing the marble & wooden floors, the penthouse is a study in understated elegance and luxury.
