Khaitan & Co – F10 [A]
A very warm and contemporary corporate office was created for Khaitan & Co., a 100-year-old home-grown law firm based out of Kolkata.
Being an institution in itself, the firm had a very traditional image that seeped into history. The aim was to reflect the vast professional growth of the firm that now includes large corporates and MNCs as their client base.
The space is divided into two zones – the luxury-seeped plush client meeting and interaction area and the functional, comfort-driven workspace. The client zone finds plenty of meeting rooms and lounges to enable several simultaneous interactions in a plush environment. A library is carved out as an extension of the reception, while the conference rooms, board room and executive lounges also are a part of this zone. Small breakaway spaces outside the meeting rooms create a balance between the closed and open spaces. The general office area has a straight-line, no-nonsense design with a warm and contemporary look. All the partners have their offices/chambers in the peripheral area looking into the teams in the open office space in the centre.
Simplicity and timeless appeal are the most prominent features of this office. While the plush spaces for the visitors spell luxury, the associates are not left bereft of any comforts in their work environment.
